Hello all,
I am not writing here because I have any answers, see the big picture clearly, or know the way forward any better than anyone else. I do take my position within the Alumni Association very seriously though. If the Association is the Voice of the Graduate, then I am the receptacle of the Voice. I feel it is my responsibility to hold space, to hold hara, to hold intention for the alumni as blossoming creations grown in the environment of Brennan Healing Science.
This is not something I can do alone or with impunity. This is the awareness I hold as I read and hear the comments being made about the upcoming sale of BBSH. I welcome any suggestions or advice as to how the BHSA can support you as an alumnus. No matter what happens with the school we are still connected in heart and experience. Know that our Board holds hara for each and every one of you the first of every month.
In terms of information and transparency—as with any large corporate business acquisition, things take time and often get messy before the way is clear. During this transition time, there are things kept confidential for the sake of the parties involved, and also things changing frequently. What is new and true one day, may not be the next.
That said, there are several other transitions that I see are taking place along with the sale:
1. Students, teachers and alumni are feeling the shifting environment, bringing with it all sorts of feelings including being unsafe, abandoned, betrayed, etc.
2. All are looking for accountability and integrity. With the sale of the school, much of the ‘shadow’, hurt, pain, unresolved feelings and stories are being given a voice—to all extents of the emotional field.
3. There is a releasing of entanglements, not just a pushing away or a cutting off. With such an overload of energy surrounding the sale, our defenses and habitual patterns, as well as our internal awareness of a both/and are present and being named.
4. Something new is being given the opportunity to grow. This new growth is also being reflected (and has been for some time) in the world leadership around us. With this in mind, I’m feeling it is important to realize these growing pains are bigger than ourselves, as individuals, and even as the community of the sacred human heart.
Barbara’s legacy lives on in us. We are the reflection and the representation of what we’ve received. As in any family or community that included the light and the shadow, the successes and the failures. What I’ve heard over and over, is that it is the community that allows us to breath in the next step and heal and grow and transform. The Association wants to be a source of continuing support for this to happen.

We’d love to hear your voice.
With love and blessings,
Anne Bachop, President, Brennan Healing Science Association
