We all know of Barbara Brennan’s integration of Wilhelm Reich’s model of characterology with the human energy field. As a Brennan graduate, Rebekah uses this foundation to go one step further and link characterology and astrology. She stresses that by expanding the knowledge of our blocks and defenses, allowing them to become more conscious through our exploration of the divine pattern we see in our natal chart, we can “create spaciousness in the psyche to allow our true Essence to shine through.”
Rebekah suggests that we come to see the character types as five stages of the soul’s journey into incarnation. Rather than focusing on our trauma and what is “wrong” with us, we see our character structures as a necessary part of the creative process bringing through our essential gifts.
The first section of the book gives an overview of the energy structures of the human energy field, characterology, astrology and the five stages of the creative process. This ties together our spirituality, our psyche and the journey which is our life’s path, or soul’s journey. Part two is the exploration of the five basic Character structures and their accompanying astrological patterns.
The final section of the book offers five case studies of Jimi Hendrix, Marilyn Monroe, Orson Welles, Frida Kahlo, and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. This section is written for those with a more advanced understanding of astrology. Each case describes how the planets in the horoscope show the development of the character types through childhood as well as indicating the gifts and talents each soul brought into manifestation in the world of matter.
As Rebekah says: “We need a way of becoming conscious of the vibrational energy patterns that underpin our personal dilemmas and we want techniques for disentangling blockages that impede the flow of energy in the HEF.” This consciousness is our awakening. Rebekah Hirsch graduated from BBSH in 2002 and from ASBIW in 2009 and she has run a private practice as an energy healer ever since. Before starting at BBSH, Rebekah was already a professional psychological astrologer, having trained with Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas at the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London.
