The history of humankind is punctuated by spectacular moments where Spirit/God/Energy and science intersect to usher in our next era of understanding about the mystery of life. Are we standing in a moment where Spirit and science once again meet? Marcy Myers believes we are, and I wholeheartedly support that notion.

The turbulent times we are in, while disruptive on many levels, hold increasing potency for igniting our understanding of Spirit and science in a way that further supports the infinite interconnectedness of all life. We stand in a moment that is simultaneously complete destruction and resurrection into a whole new world of possibilities that we are only beginning to dare to dream.

If you are like me, this probably isn’t the first time you have been curious about the intersection of Spirit/God/Universe/Energy, and what we know science has been able to prove to this date. The field of Bioenergetics, Quantum Physics, and breakthroughs in the field of Neurobiology, to name but a few, seems to support the existence of Spirit/God/Energy more with each passing day.

Does an exploration of sacred texts, then, in turn, support science? This is precisely the question that Marcy Meyers, Bioenergetics Therapist and a graduate of BBSH 2016, explores in her new book, “Blessed with Energy.”

Marcy takes the science of bioenergetics and searches for support of this and other energetic modalities in the Bible. Turning the perspective from “does science support God/Spirit” to “does the Bible support the new discoveries in the fields measuring Spirit” was immediately intriguing to me. I can easily see how the discomfort in our turbulent times reflects many aspects of this same question.

Marcy’s inquiry is an honest examination of this moment in time that is deeply anchored in her abiding faith as a Christian and her knowledge of energy as an experience of God moving through her life to serving others. She relates energetic concepts to scientific research supporting the existence of God/Energy that heals to specific scripture in the Christian Bible.

This book is deeply thought-provoking to those who might feel uncomfortable with our rapidly changing times from an integrative medicine perspective. In other words, Marcy’s examination of energy medicine and her deeply held Christian faith guided her back to the Bible to support healing that is both/and – science and Spirit, rather than either/or. This is a powerful shift for our times that expand integrative medicine in service to healing.

It is a remarkable door she has dared to open and bravely walk through toward deeper connection between science and spirit. If you have been curious about the place in time and space where God meets the science of Energy Medicine, Marcy’s book is an excellent place to deepen your faith led inquiry. I personally found her book supported and enriched my search deeper into the unity inherent in all things.
