As 2019 comes to a close, we are looking forward to not only a new year, but a new decade. Lots of people have been talking about 2020 being the year of perfect vision. I wonder what that really means?
As we look ahead, what does “perfect” mean? That would be as individual as each of us. My perfect might be your nightmare and vice versa. Perhaps “perfect” just means to allow everyone to be who they are being in the moment. To look on everyone with 20/20 vision would be to see them for who they are as a spiritual being, perfect in every way.
Can we go into the next decade with less judgment, less accusing, less blaming, less contention? As the saying goes, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” For me, that is what 20/20 vision means. To be able to see the struggles of another and just be kind to them. No matter who they are or what they are doing in form. Isn’t that what we would wish for ourselves for this new year, new decade, for always…just some kindness?
2020, a year of perfect vision in which I will see all of my brothers and sisters as equal in the eyes of our Creator God. Now that’s a resolution worth making.
